What am I rocking on my Bloglovin' recently?
(Source: Authors Own)
I absolutely love reading blogs. I prefer reading fashion and beauty blogs and rarely read a magazine anymore because of them. My Bloglovin' (which is seriously one of the best apps ever invented) is full to the bring with some fantastic blogs I read and click that little heart. I share a few of my best below:
A Beautiful Mess (ABM) is run by two sisters Emma Chapman and Elsie Larson. This lifestyle blog has lots of beautiful homemade crafts and food that you can actually achieve yourself at home! The blog is laid out very well. There are so many images in the articles that it appeals greatly to the magpie in me. The photography on ABM blog is high quality due to their amazing professional photographer and the staff's skills. Their tutorials are written well and I really want to try the Illustrated Tree Slices and the Marbled Clay Ring Dish. The How to Stay Motivated & Achieve Your Goals series has encouraged me to set little prizes for the goals I hit. Although the blog is American you can get the majority of materials they use in the UK. Which is a plus point as I have read US blogs and have ended up wanting after the products I cannot have! This blog is perfect for those who like art and crafty projects, food and good photography. Speaking of photography you will love their Instagram page.
From Roses is a beauty and lifestyle blog by 23-year-old Rebecca who is based in Nottingham. I found From Roses by looking at the suggested blogs on Bloglovin. Rebecca's posts are well written and thought out. A couple of posts that really struck out for me was when she talked about losing her mother to cancer. I am very lucky to not have experienced a loss like this but the way Rebecca spoke about mum losing her fight to cancer and how Rebecca coped with it after (particularly as she went to university not long after she lost her mum) really struck a chord with me. As the writing felt so raw and to be able to share such a private moment with her readers on such a sensitive topic written so well was heartfelt. The second post on a lighter note about how to save money I enjoyed. As someone who is conscious of saving money myself, I related to the post so well that I tweeted her to tell her so!
Vivannadoesmakeup
Anna needs no introduction. Creator and author of the blog and video site Vivannadoesmakeup. I love the way Anna writes her posts on a variety of topics. My favourite posts are about fitness. Anna writes really succinct posts about beauty products and I find she is the first blog I click onto if I want to try something different.
Wonder Forest
My final blog is all about Dana and Wonderforest. This Canadian blogger is super talented having first created personalised layouts for Myspace and then moved to blog layouts. Dana has also branched out to developing apps, designing stationery and other bits and bobs to sell online. I found Dana's blog posts about how she started in business and how she coped with setbacks a real inspiration to read. Her experience designing for companies (she designed Kylie Minogue's myspace site don't ya know!) means her posts about blog design and tech help I take very seriously. Dana has a fun, playful yet serious side about her which results in me always coming back to read more.
This is it for the blogs I recommend. Which blogs would you recommend?
